Skindful ("the app") is an iOS application that helps you check whether cosmetic ingredients are flagged for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. This policy explains what data the app does — and does not — handle.

The short version

Skindful does not collect, store, or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.

What happens on your device

Ingredient analysis happens entirely on your device. When you scan or photograph an ingredient label, the image is processed locally to read the text. Photos and scanned text are never uploaded to us or to anyone else, and the app works without an internet connection for this feature.

Barcode lookups

If you scan a product barcode while online, the app sends only the barcode number to the Open Beauty Facts public database (openbeautyfacts.org) to identify the product. This request contains no personal information, no identifiers, and nothing about you or your device beyond a standard internet request. If you are offline, barcode lookup is unavailable but label scanning continues to work.

Purchases

Subscriptions are offered and processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your device Settings. Our Terms of Use is the standard Apple End User License Agreement, available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

Health information

The app provides general educational information about cosmetic ingredients, with citations to publicly available sources (such as ACOG, FDA, and peer-reviewed literature). It is not medical advice, and it does not collect any health information about you. Always consult your healthcare provider about products you use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Children

Skindful is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change how the app handles data, we will update this page and revise the effective date above.
